Early Childhood Center

The Sunrise Early Childhood Center offers preschool classes for 2 - 5 year olds, as well as Kindergarten. Classes meet from 9am - 1pm, with a variety of schedules and optional afternoon activities available. The Sunrise ECC offers reasonable rates, exceptional staff, and a caring Christian environment with low student to teacher ratios.

Our Philosophy

The Sunrise Early Childhood Center will provide a warm, caring Christian environment in which a child can experiment, explore, create and develop skills at his or her own rate and according to her or his own abilities.

We believe children are natural learners and learn best when they:

• learn skills through meaningful and interesting activities

Our teachers wil:

• nurture each child's unique abilities
• establish a positive environment where children learn self-discipline
• provide a classroom routine that promotes safety and security
• plan for a variety of learners and learning styles
• create a positive school experience that enhances a child's view of school and creates a love of learning
• promote independence in the resolution of problems among peers with minimal adult direction
• lay the foundation for the future academic success with the introduction of all appropriate subjects

Our Program

The staff at the Sunrise Early Childhood Center consists of Early Childhood and Elementary teachers with many years of experience. All teachers are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Our program provides developmentally appropriate activities for our students that meet their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs. During each class, you child will be able to choose between a variety of individual and group activities that incorporate a weekly learning theme. The classes have a center-based learning environment. Outdoor play will be incorporated ito each day of all students. During inclement weather, gross motor time is done in the large Celebration Room.

Our staff has been trained in the Conscious Discipline program developed by award-winning author Dr. Becky Bailey. Dr. Bailey's program focuses on a positive, cooperative approach to classroom management.
